Check out this freak show...

weird clay art by my lovely daughter Rachel.
First she came prancing in the kitchen like this...

Then she looked at me & said with a little sparkle in her eyes, "quick mama...grab your camera...I have an idea!!!"

Here is what followed...

She was entertained for the whole evening & so was I.
We were laughing, actually... it was more like hysterical giggling, all night.

Then she made this final creation...

(check out the little eyelashes...crazy huh?)

I love that something as ordinary as dollar store clay can be such an extraordinary & creative toy.
This was a great reminder for me as I head into the crazy shopping frenzy for Christmas. Sometimes even the simplest of things can bring us so much pleasure.
I love you Rachel!! You are a shining light in my life.

Omg she's such the freakshow! I LOVE what she made! Those little red lips are so precise!! She's too funny!
Love the face at the end of the post too... all made from clay! I can tell she was sculpting her Mama!!
Fun stuff and you're SOOO RiGHT!! The little things from the dollar store give so many more hours of creative play than the expensive stuff!!

Wow, she's really very pretty! And SO creative, make sure she runs with that. My friends sister was totally into crazy artsy stuff growing up and it got her a full ride to Bowling Green (her first choice college) in Ohio, everything is paid for including her housing for four years! Crazy crafts can pay off!

Hey, I just noticed, I have that same rug in my family room! Funny... I bet we would be friends if we lived near each other. Too bad I didn't "meet" you when we were living in Philly!
